David has lived in Norfolk for more than 25 years and has been a county councillor since 2007. He has also been district councillor and town councillor for Aylsham for some years and is about to become a governor at Aylsham High School. David's key political interests are education, energy and waste and he is currently a member of Cabinet Scrutiny, Adult Social Services and Planning panels at the Council. David currently works as a teacher and this, in conjunction with previous experience as a research scientist in medical and agricultural research, work in hospitals as a biochemist and on farms as a nutritionist, gives him a particular expertise in many areas of the County Council's work. David has lived in Fakenham for all but six years of his life and has been a county councillor since 1997. Cllr James Joyce
James has lived in Reepham for more than 10 years and has been a county councillor since 2005. He is incredibly active in the local community and, as well as being a Police Authority Member, Broadland District Councillor, Reepham Town Councillor, School Governor at two primary schools, a Reepham Green Team board member and chair of Norfolk Crimestoppers, he also manages to find time to act as Chair of the Liberal Democrat Group and Liberal Democrat Spokesperson on Economic Development. James has a BA in Business Studies and is a Classics Scholar and has 35 years experience in the advertising industry, including running operations for a multinational in central Europe. Cllr Jacky Howe
Jacky has lived in Norfolk for more than 10 years and has been a county councillor since 2005. She has also been North Norfolk District Councillor for Fakenham and a governor at Astley Primary School. Jacky's key political interests are addressing poverty and deprivation - whether that be fuel, food or housing needs and making our society more fair and equitable. She has taken a leading role for the Liberal Democrats at the County Council and is currently Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group and Liberal Democrat spokesperson on Adult Social Services and Health among other responsibilities. Most of Jacky's career was based in the development of social housing - particularly for people with special needs and she was founding Chairman of North Norfolk's large scale stock transfer housing association - now Victory Housing Trust. Jacky is now semi-retired but doing consultancy work in management and fund-raising for Non-Governmental Organisations. Cllr Paul Morse
Paul has lived in North Walsham for almost 20 years and has been a county councillor since 2005. He is the Group Leader of the Liberal Democrats and their spokesperson on corporate affairs. Paul is a committed champion for his area and works extremely hard to address local issues. Cllr Mervyn Scutter
Mervyn has lived in Norwich for more than 30 years and has been a county councillor since 2001. He holds a BA in Maths, a Graduate Diploma in Economics and Quantitative Techniques and Qualified Teacher Status. Though he has now retired Mervyn has previously worked as a teacher, statistician, lecturer, and further education manager. Cllr Barbara Hacker
Barbara has lived in Norfolk for more than 25 years and has been a county councillor since 1993. Cllr Tim East
Tim has lived in Costessey for almost 50 years and has more than 25 years experience as a district and parish councillor. He has been a county councillor since 1997 and has had a wide range of roles in this time including Cabinet Member for Planning and Transportation. He is currently Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Environment and Waste. Tim's overriding political interest is helping local people solve problems and he is incredibly active in the local community. He has served as Chairman of South Norfolk Council, Vice Chairman of South Norfolk Planning, President of the Dereham and District NUT (National Union of Teachers), a Police Authority Member, school governor and magistrate. Tim has mobility problems as a result of contracting polio in his right leg in 1948 and this also means he is a vociferous campaigner for equal opportunities for disabled people. Tim has now retired but has previously worked as an Executive officer in MOD and is a former headteacher. He has two grown up children and lives in Costessey with his wife. Cllr Fran Pitt-Pladdy campaigning for speed restrictions in his local area
Fran has lived in Norfolk for 18 years and has been a county councillor since 2005. Though he has now retired Fran has previously worked as a teacher and civil servant and this, in addition to his experience as a parish councillor, school governor, union member and Harleston festival and historical society member, makes him a very useful part of the Liberal Democrat team. Fran is currently Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Museums and Commercial Services and is also a member of the Adult Social Services and Corporate Affairs Overview and Scrutiny Panels. Fran describes himself politically as being pro military, pro Europe, anti apartheid, anti communist, anti poverty, pro argument and pro fun. Fran is kept busy by three grown up children and seven grandchildren but when he does have some spare time his passions are history, archaelogy, computing, reading and cricket. Fran lives in Harleston with his wife of 43 years and his Bagpuss look-alike cat.

Cllr Judith Brown
Judith has lived in West Winch for more than 30 years and has been a county councillor since 2005. She is very active in the community and her key political interests are children and carers. Judith is the Council's Carers champion and sits on the Children's Services Panel at the Council. Judith is now a retired civil servant but her work with developers has given her a useful insight into planning issues.
