Lib Dem 10/10 motion to Norfolk County Council - Read It Here12.00.00am GMT Thu 19th Nov 2009
The Liberal Democrats at Norfolk County Council have taken the lead in fighting climate change in Norfolk. Their motion to Council, which will be heard Monday, calls on individual councillors to lead the way in Norfolk and sign up to the 10/10 pledge. The motion reads as follows: Motion to Council - 23/11/09 Proposer - Cllr Tim East Seconder - Cllr James Joyce "That this Council believes it is vital that Norfolk demonstrates political leadership at all levels and across all parties in response to climate change. This Council notes the declared support of Liberal Democrat, Labour and Conservative MPs to the objective of the 10:10 campaign which calls for 10 per cent greenhouse gas emission reductions by the end of 2010; and encourages individual Members of Norfolk County Council to personally sign up to the 10:10 campaign and publicise what actions they are taking to reduce their own carbon emissions by 10% in the year 2010."
